Candle Division Cards

A snowstorm has delayed deliveries to a community candle-making workshop. Solve each card to help prepare the orders. For division with a remainder, write the quotient and remainder, then check with: divisor × quotient + remainder = dividend. A remainder must always be smaller than the divisor.

3.Amelia arranges 5,436 candles into 9 equal rows. How many candles are in each row?

4.The delivery team splits 7,248 tea lights equally into 8 shipments. How many tea lights are in each shipment?

5.There are 6,345 scented candles to display equally on 5 shelves. How many candles go on each shelf?

6.Noé places 8,127 votive candles equally into 4 trays. How many are on each tray, and how many are left over?

7.The snow-day market has 9,063 floating candles to share equally between 3 booths. How many candles does each booth receive?

8.A delivery has 4,519 wax melts to divide equally among 6 orders. How many wax melts can go in each order, and how many remain?

9.Use the result from Card 6 to write a multiplication check that proves the division is correct. Include the leftover candles.

10.Create a candle-packing division problem with a 4-digit dividend and a 1-digit divisor that has a remainder. Write the equation and check that your remainder is smaller than the divisor.
