Halloween Story Generator

Choose a character and ideas for an adventure. Then use your plan to write a story with a beginning, a problem and an ending.

Plan your story

There are no wrong ideas. You can pick from the choices or add your own.

1.Choose a main character for your Halloween story.

a curious ghost
a pumpkin who can talk
a kind witch
a nervous black cat
my own idea

2.Describe your character. What does it look like? Add two details.

3.Tick one or more things your character enjoys doing.

exploring a moonlit garden
making a new friend
baking pumpkin muffins
singing a spooky song
helping someone who is lost

4.Where does your story begin, and what is your character doing there?

5.A surprise interrupts the adventure. What unexpected thing happens?

6.How does your character feel about the surprise, and why?

7.How does your character deal with the problem?

8.How does the adventure end?

Write your story

Use your plan to write a story. Remember to tell what happens first, what goes wrong and how the adventure ends. You could add describing words and speech marks for a character's words.

9.Write your Halloween story. Give it a title and include your character, a surprise and an ending.

10.Draw a favourite moment from your story.
