Three Little Pigs Summary

Read the story, then answer each question using details from the passage. For the final activity, draw a moment from the story.

The Three Little Pigs

Once upon a time, three little pigs left home to build houses of their own. The first pig hurried and made a house from straw. The second pig built a house from sticks. The third pig worked carefully, laying strong bricks until his house was finished. A hungry wolf came to the first pig’s door. “Let me in!” he called. The pig refused, so the wolf huffed and puffed until the straw house fell down. The first pig ran to his brother’s stick house. The wolf followed and blew that house down, too. Both pigs raced to the brick house. The wolf tried to blow down the brick house, but it stood firm. He huffed and puffed again and again, yet the walls did not move. At last, he gave up and left. The three pigs were safe together in the strong house. Their experience showed them that taking time to build well had helped keep them safe.
