The 5 times table

The 5 times table runs from 5 × 1 = 5 up to 5 × 12 = 60. It counts up in 5s, so every answer is a multiple of 5.

• The 5 times table counts up in 5s: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60.
• Skip counting in 5s is the same thing as the 5 times table — start at 5 and add 5 each time.
• Multiplication works in either order, so 5 × 8 gives the same answer as 8 × 5 = 40. Learning one fact gives you both.
• Every answer in the 5 times table is a multiple of 5, so each one divides exactly by 5 — for example 35 ÷ 5 = 7.
