The 4 times table

The 4 times table runs from 4 × 1 = 4 up to 4 × 12 = 48. It counts up in 4s, so every answer is a multiple of 4.

• The 4 times table counts up in 4s: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48.
• Skip counting in 4s is the same thing as the 4 times table — start at 4 and add 4 each time.
• Multiplication works in either order, so 4 × 8 gives the same answer as 8 × 4 = 32. Learning one fact gives you both.
• Every answer in the 4 times table is a multiple of 4, so each one divides exactly by 4 — for example 28 ÷ 4 = 7.
