The 2 times table

The 2 times table runs from 2 × 1 = 2 up to 2 × 12 = 24. It counts up in 2s, so every answer is a multiple of 2.

  • The 2 times table counts up in 2s: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24.
  • Skip counting in 2s is the same thing as the 2 times table — start at 2 and add 2 each time.
  • Multiplication works in either order, so 2 × 8 gives the same answer as 8 × 2 = 16. Learning one fact gives you both.
  • Every answer in the 2 times table is a multiple of 2, so each one divides exactly by 2 — for example 14 ÷ 2 = 7.
