About this printable

This A4 printable contains multiple horizontal strip cards (designed to be cut apart) that show coloured icons and sentence stems with blanks for pupils to complete: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, equals/inequalities, less/greater than, rounding, place-value statements and comparative prompts. It is intended as a scaffolded resource to prompt oral or written number sentences, to support EAL and SEND students with language for maths, and to practise number-sense vocabulary. The cards are deliberately short sentence stems so teachers can adapt numbers (concrete manipulatives, number cards or mental arithmetic) to match ability.
