This printable is a one-page display set of sentence starters organised into coloured boxes with icons and brief example stems for different purposes (describe, explain, opinion, evidence, add information, compare/contrast, time/sequence, question, conclude, emphasise). It is designed as a visible scaffold to help pupils begin and develop sentences across subjects and to support EAL/SEND learners. The language is concise and ready-to-use, but works best when paired with teacher modelling and targeted practice.
