I can use map symbols, a map legend, and a compass rose to help readers understand a map.

Success criteria:

☐ I label the four main directions: north, south, east, and west.

☐ I create six clear symbols.

☐ I explain what each symbol represents.

☐ I make my legend neat and easy to read.
