📚 Part 1: The Four Types of Writing

1. Persuasive Writing

What it is: Writing that tries to get someone to agree with you.

Example: "We should have pizza for lunch today! Pizza tastes great and makes everyone happy. It will give us energy to play at recess."

2. Story Writing

What it is: Writing that tells a story about people, animals, or things.

Example: "Yesterday, I went to the park with my dog Max. We played fetch and Max caught every ball. Then we sat under a big tree and shared my snack."

3. Teaching Writing

What it is: Writing that teaches someone about something new.

Example: "Dogs make great pets. They need food, water, and love every day. Dogs like to play and go for walks. They can learn tricks too!"

4. Describing Writing

What it is: Writing that tells what something looks, sounds, feels, smells, or tastes like.

Example: "My cat is soft and fluffy. She has bright green eyes and a pink nose. When she purrs, it sounds like a tiny motor running."
