Part 1: Plan Your Story

Think of one important summer experience. Your essay will have three paragraphs: an introduction, body, and conclusion.

2. Where and when did this experience happen?

3. Write three details about what happened. Include specific sights, sounds, actions, or feelings.

4. What did you learn, realize, or feel at the end?

Part 2: Write Your Three-Paragraph Essay

Paragraph 1—Introduction: Introduce the experience and tell why it was important or memorable.

Paragraph 2—Body: Describe what happened in order. Use details and transition words such as first, next, then, and finally.

Paragraph 3—Conclusion: Explain how the experience ended and what you learned or felt.

5. Draw a picture of the most important moment in your story.

6. Before you finish, check each box.
