Why Recycling Matters

Every day, Americans throw away millions of tons of trash. But did you know that many of these items could be recycled instead? Recycling is the process of turning old materials into new products. When we recycle, we help protect our planet in amazing ways!

First, recycling saves natural resources. When we recycle paper, we don't need to cut down as many trees. When we recycle aluminum cans, we don't need to mine as much metal from the earth. This helps preserve forests and protects wildlife habitats.
