His young son called out, "Father, wouldn't it be wiser to tie the pot to your back?" Anansi realized his son was right, but then he also realized he didn't have ALL the wisdom if his son knew something he didn't! In anger, Anansi threw the pot down, and wisdom scattered everywhere for everyone to share.

Br'er Fox was tired of Br'er Rabbit's tricks, so he made a tar baby and put it by the road. When Br'er Rabbit came by, he said "Good morning!" to the tar baby, but it didn't answer. This made Br'er Rabbit angry, so he hit the tar baby and got stuck! Br'er Fox appeared and laughed. "Now I've got you!" he said. Br'er Rabbit begged, "Please don't throw me in that briar patch! Anything but that!" So Br'er Fox threw him right into the briar patch. But Br'er Rabbit called out happily, "Thanks! I was born and raised in a briar patch!" and hopped away free.
