The Great School Fundraiser

Last month, Lincoln Elementary had a problem. The school library needed new computers, but they cost $5,000. The principal, Mrs. Garcia, called a meeting to discuss solutions.

First, the teachers suggested a bake sale. Next, parents recommended a car wash. Finally, students proposed a talent show. The school decided to do all three events over one weekend.

On Friday night, families packed the gymnasium for the talent show. Unlike previous years when only 50 people attended school events, this time over 200 people came! While the bake sale raised $800 and the car wash earned $600, the talent show was the biggest success, bringing in $1,200.

Because the community worked together, they raised $2,600 in just one weekend. As a result, they decided to hold the same events again in spring to reach their $5,000 goal. The students were thrilled that their hard work was paying off, and the library would soon have new computers for everyone to use.
