Because a standardized test in grammar, reading, spelling and math is required every year, choose language arts and math programs that cover those explicitly and keep the results on file (they are not submitted, but must be available).

“Free homeschool programs” in North Carolina
Most results for free programs are public online schools. They are free and teacher-led, but your child is a public school student with state testing, not a homeschooler. Worth knowing before you enroll.
