📖 The Great School Recycling Challenge

Last month, Lincoln Elementary faced a serious problem. The school was producing three times more trash than other schools in the district. Principal Martinez was worried because the garbage bins were overflowing every day, and the school was spending too much money on waste removal.

As a result of this growing problem, she decided to start a recycling program. First, she met with teachers to discuss the plan. Next, students learned about recycling in their science classes. Then, colorful recycling bins were placed throughout the school. Finally, after just one month, the school's trash was reduced by 60%!

The new recycling program was much better than the old system. While the old way created mountains of waste, the new program turned trash into treasure. Unlike before when students threw everything away, now they carefully sorted their waste. The school went from being the messiest to being the most environmentally friendly school in the district.

Thanks to everyone's hard work, Lincoln Elementary won the "Green School Award" and saved $2,000 on waste removal costs. The success inspired other schools to start their own recycling programs too.
